The Historical Archive of the City of Barcelona preserves a real rarity: the Book of Fountains. It was written by Francesc Socies in 1650 on behalf of the Consell de Cent. Socies was the master of the city's fountains and put in writing all the knowledge he had accumulated during the thirty years he held this position.
