Inti-Illimani is a renowned Chilean popular music group, founded in 1967. Its style combines Andean music with traditional Latin American rhythms. It was part of the New Chilean Song movement. For several years it lived in exile due to the dictatorship in Chile. Its songs convey messages of identity, justice and social commitment. Today it is considered one of the most important groups in Latin American music.
