Concert "Chopin Piano Concerto", with Cristian Macelaru and David Khrikuli

Bedrich Smetana's symphonic poem The Vltava opens the concert with a powerful evocation of the Czech composer's landscape and national identity. Part of the Má vlast cycle, the score follows the course of the river from its source to its triumphant arrival in Prague, stopping at nocturnal episodes and peasant dances. Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 displays, with lyrical writing of contrasting eloquence, the most personal voice of the composer.
