1943. Franco has blocked the passage of refugees fleeing Nazi repression through the Pyrenees. At the customs of a border town, Manel Grau, a civil servant with a Republican past, decides to disobey orders, helped by Juliana, a neighbor of the town, and Jerôme, a French smuggler.
